It is difficult to live well nowadays, if you're a single mother it is much harder. You have to shoulder your child's educational expenses, your family's daily needs, your home to live in and lots of other things that involves money. It is very tiring and also very hard to take these responsibilities if you are the only one who has to provide for your family. But, no need to worry. For single mothers who are in critical need of financial help, there are lots of loans for single moms in need. Before getting or applying for a loan of any sort, you have to consider and think thoroughly why you need to get or to apply for a loan. Always keep in mind that loans are NOT FOR FREE. However, it certainly is true that loans can help you ease your financial burdens, but this is not the real solution at all. Your present financial worries can be aided through loans, BUT loans actually cost you more money to repay them. Before taking a loan you must have a concrete and compelling reason for it.

If you are a single mother and you are finding that your situation is very hard and you think about taking a loan, you should really consider what options are available out there for you. Do you really need to apply for a loan? If yes, how much money do you need? If you need a large amount of money to loan (say, you need to buy a house for your family to live in or you have something costly that you need to pay) you probably need to get personal or private loans for single moms. Loans are basically divided into two categories: private loans and government loans. Most people are qualified to take or to apply for private loans. So, what are these private and government loans?

Government Loans
- Mostly are mortgage loans insured or backed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Rural Housing Service, or the Federal Housing Administration.

Private Loans
- These are loans that you agree in principle to pay the money back in time with or without interest.

Types of Private Loans:

* Debt Consolidation Loans
Debt consolidation loans are the perfect fit for you if you need to pay your existing debts. This types of loan will give you large sums of money right away so you can pay for your debts or address to your financial problems. This loan requires you to pay the one who provided you the money every month. Almost everyone can apply for this kind of loan, however this type of loan can be risky due to sneaky interest increases.

* Secured Loans
Secured loans will let you borrow money only up to how much you really need. This will be because the loan provider will never lend you money more than the amount you need. In most cases, the loan provider will send a person to your house to check your situation and current status to judge the amount of money that you probably need. However, single moms are not advised to apply for this type of loan of they do not have the capability to pay the money back.

* Unsecured Loans
These type of loans are extremely hard to get, you need to have a very good credit and the assets to be able to COVER the loan. Not like the secured loans, your assets are NOT put up against the loan value. This makes these type of loans highly sought after and also it is what makes these loans very hard to get.

* Payday Loans
These type of loans have recently been popular, you don't need to have good credits nor have valuable assets to back your loan up and the loan amounts are usually only a few hundreds to a few thousands. However, you have to pay high interest rates and if you fail to pay after a couple of months, your interest will rise higher than the amount you originally borrowed.

* Mortgage Loans
If you want a home to be your family's shelter from storms, then you need to buy a home through loans. This is the main purpose of mortgage loans.
